The Home Doctor was founded by Gary Abrams in 1980 and has been serving the Los Angeles County and East Ventura County since its inception.
Naturally mechanically inclined, Gary was involved with hands-on home improvement and creative projects from an early age with his father. He was raised on the Westside of Los Angeles and earned a bachelor’s degree from UCLA.
Shorty after graduation he recognized a need in the Los Angeles community for a professional home improvement, repair, maintenance and safety service company, thus The Home Doctor was born in 1980. Through years of hard work, personal service and attention to detail the scope of work Gary handles as The Home Doctor has grown to over 40 trades providing “one call” state licensed and insured service for almost anything homeowners can need. After more than 45 years in business Gary has passed the mantle to his very capable son Jason to continue the tradition of top quality, “customer first” service to the community. Gary is enjoying retirement while maintaining a consulting presence in our company.
Some of the trades provided include plumbing, electrical, major appliances, heating, air conditioning, carpentry, drywall, painting, rain gutters, general handyman service, garage doors & openers among many more.
Jason follows the Golden Rule established by his dad of old fashioned customer service. He personally responds to all requests for service and emergencies are a specialty.
